KTVK: Phoenix police officer arrested for alleged domestic violence (Oct 14 2013)

According to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, Albert Smith got into a fight with his wife, Donna, on the night of Thursday, Oct.10. Deputies say Smith punched his wife in the face, causing a bruise on her forehead. Smith also reportedly suffered some injuries in the fight. Both Smith and wife were arrested in the incident.


The argument happened at the couple's Mesa home, after Donna had reportedly thrown a birthday party for her husband earlier that night. According to court documents, Donna says her husband got upset during the party, and the pair continued the argument later at home. That's when Donna says Albert Smith held her down and punched her several times in the face. Donna admitted to deputies that she bit her husband's fingers, believing it was only way she could defend herself. She later secretly called 911.
