  1. Here are the 8 reports of police misconduct tracked for Friday, May 9, 2014:

    • Hidalgo County, Texas: A deputy marshal [Deputy Saul Solis ] has been placed on administrative leave after being accused of a sexually abusing a child.
    • Miami, Florida: A police officer [Officer Juan Cecchinelli] was removed from his position after he sent sexually explicit text messages to a teenage student.
    • Carbon County, Utah: The sheriff [Sheriff James Cordova] is under investigation for alleged misuse of a county credit card and equipment to move to his new home. The county attorney says his office is investigating allegations that the officer spent about $2,100 on the credit card to purchase fuel for the county-owned pickup truck.
    • Sulphur, Louisiana: The police officer [Officer Brian Thierbach] who fatally shot a dog [Arzy, Brandon Carpenter (owner)] has resigned prior to final disciplinary action being taken against him.
    • Miami, Florida: A total of 23 officers fired a total of at least 377 rounds at 2 unarmed men [Adrian Montesano, Corsini Valdes], killing them both. Bullets were sprayed everywhere. They hit cars, fence posts and neighboring businesses and blasted holes in a townhouse where a 12-year-old dove to the ground for cover and a four month old slept in his crib.
    • Huntsville, Alabama: A 17-year-old [mother: Nancy Smith] set up for a drug sting died from injuries suffered during his arrest, according to a federal lawsuit filed [being sued: Police Chief Lewis Morris, Sergeant Dewayne McCarver, four additional unnamed Huntsville officers]. The city denied the allegations in the lawsuit.
    • Harvey, Illinois: A long-time police officer [Officer Lemuel Askew] has been arrested and accused of buying a stolen iPod, power tools and other items after a two-year investigation involving federal and state law enforcement, authorities said.
    • Hearne, Texas: A small town police officer [Officer Stephen Stem] responding to an emergency call about a female with a gun has been suspended for shooting dead a 93-year-old woman [Perlie Golden] in her home, authorities said.
