A Sturgeon Bay WI man made his initial appearance in Door County Circuit Court Monday for allegedly stalking a Sturgeon Bay police officer.
William W. Henke III, 32, was arrested Nov. 29 after a felony traffic stop and search warrant was executed on his home at 24 E. Spruce St., Apt. C.
According to a police report, the Door County SWAT team searched his residence with the help of a K-9 unit. The warrant was obtained after Henke allegedly was seen using marijuana and threatened to shoot Sturgeon Bay police officer Robert Osborne, the report said.
After his arrest, Henke told police he was upset with Osborne for looking through his garbage on Nov. 17. Osborne assists the Door/Kewaunee Drug Task Force and occasionally picks up garbage after it is placed curbside for routine collection.
Henke told police, "If he is watching me, I want him to know he was being watched, too," the report said.
He was charged with felony stalking for allegedly watching and driving past Osborne's house on several occasions. Henke was also charged with two misdemeanor counts of possessing drug paraphernalia as a result of the search warrant.
Drug-related items recovered from his home included bongs, a pipe, baggies with marijuana residue and a digital scale, according to the report. Police also found a box of 20-gauge shells and a fishing knife in his vehicle.
