    And from Glenn Greenwald:
In other words, just as the U.S. helped created Al Qaeda by arming the Afghan mujahedin against the Soviets in the '80s, so we are now helping to create the next group who will, no doubt, someday be designated as the next Greatest Enemy on Earth. We never learn.

    Bummer! :D

"Nuclear scientist" is a risky occupation in Iran these days. Most life insurance carriers would probably drop you like a hot potato.

as a signatory to the non proliferation treaty, Iran has the right to develop a peaceful nuclear power plant program. The head of Mossad acknowledges that the Iranians are not presently developing nuclear weapons and have apparently decided not to press on with their development (which is why the Mossad chief advocates NOT striking against Iran). In that scenario, perhaps these assassinations of nuclear scientists are not quite as wonderful as we might think...

Although this is an English-language story in an Israeli newspaper, the story originated with Al-Arabiya in Dubai ...

Times of Israeli: Iran killed its own nuclear scientist, pinned it on ‘Mossad spy,’ Arab TV station report: Alleged Israeli agent, who was executed last week, carried a badly forged passport and was never shown dead, Al-Arabiya claims

hmm. could you imagine the stir if Fashi ever showed up in Iran or elsewhere? I think we can safely say whatever happened to him, he'll never be heard from again.
