What in the world is going on with the airline industry? It seems air travel has become hostile from the time of booking through departure at the destination. The airlines fleece passengers for any fee they can dream up and set up a bait and switch booking system where the fees are concealed until after a non-refundable fares is purchased. The ticket agents are rude, then comes TSA and after one is on board there are surly FAs and grumpy passengers. Why anyone would fly for recreational purposes or when driving was a viable option is baffling.

Good grief-- Forced-off the flight because the attendant is playing service gestapo? I hope their father didn't die in the meantime! What's going on seems like a serious "service" disconnect. Maybe the airlines are getting training in hostility management from security. That's what happens when you see the passengers as potential enemies.

So it seems. The number of flight crew abuses has skyrocketed since TSA went berserk in November. Since the FAs are not fully exempt from screening (yet), perhaps they are taking their frustrations with TSA gropings out on the pax when when they are in control.

I think it's just a militant attitude stemming from paranoia, and there are many airports where crews are exempt from screening.

I can't think of a better explanation and isn't this just pathetic? :(
